Just for discussion's sake, imagine the Airforce declaring war on the Navy and the F-15 meets the F-14, one-on-one with the best pilots of each services manning them. Who might do the victory roll? (Continue imagining that the F-14 is still in service!)
A little more details.
1) The Phoenix has drawn blood in combat and there are claims that a single AIM-54 had taken out multiple targets.
2) The Shah chose the F-14 after a competition with the F-15.
3) The F-14 can fire the Slammer.
