How do you fix the black bar on the 20MT1331/17 Philips Magnavox Smart series T.V?
Hi, I have the 20MT1331/17 Magnavox Smart Series T.V. My t.v. has a 5' black bar at the top of it, when it first appeared it would gradually go away but now it gets bigger and it won't go away no matter what I do and one time it almost covered the whole screen! I called Philips and they refused to help me or give me advice I guess cus my warranty was up, they told me to go to their website and seek advice but their website sucks big time.
Anyone know what to do or how to fix it?
That's vertical output failure...you'll need to replace the Vertical output, replace the 28 Volt power supply caps and most likely replace the Vertical power supply current limiting resistor and the cap in that section of the set.
